INTRODUCTION 1. We
are a born again, Non-Denominational, Self-Supporting, blood washed,
independent, Free Will, New Testament Ministry.
2. We are an American Husband and Filipina Wife Ministry team. Our ministry is mainly English with a touch of Cebuano. 3. We make no apologies for what we believe, what we teach or for the way we live our lives. 4. We use only the scripture called “the Holy Bible” which is a translation from the original tongues, passed down through the years and preserved by God. 4. We as Christians teach and live by the New Testament of the Bible. We use the Old Testament to teach creation history and prophecy of the then (future) coming Messiah, Jesus Christ. 6. We answer only to God the Father through the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. We do not apologize for our Faith, What we teach, what we preach, The Music we sing and play or the Way we live our lives. 7. We hold no language more holy than another, so we urge people to use the Holy Bible that is translated into the language they can understand and learn from the best. 8. We also do not hold any day holier than another and therefore urge Christians to meet, worship, praise and study on any and all days according to your heart and guidance of the holy spirit. 9. We hold that all foods are clean according to Romans 14 & 15 and can be eaten (if) one has a clear conscience about it and asks God’s blessings upon the food to be eaten.
1.
ANGELS We
believe and teach that
angels are created ministering beings, endowed with free will. There is
no doubt that, since 1/3 of the angels chose to follow Satan and turned
against God, they do have freewill.
We believe angels were created at the age God wanted them to be and are immortal. Their bodies (which are spiritual) do not age, and they do not grow as the years pass. They do not marry nor have babies. The Holy Angels serve God as messengers and agents, and are appointed to attend to those, who because of age or mental illness do not have the mentality to know right from wrong. They are also appointed to attend those who have chosen the Lord Jesus as Savior. They are not to be worshiped or prayed to. Nehemiah 9:6, 1Kings 19:5; Psalms l04:4, Colossians 2:18; Isaiah 6:2; Matthew 1:20, 24; 2:13,19; 22:30; 25:31; 28:2; Mark 12:25; Lukel6:22; 20:36; Acts 5:18-20; 7:53; 12:7-11; 27:23-24; Hebrews 1:6-14; 12:22; 1Peter3:22; Revelation 1:1; 19:10; 22:8-9; 2.
ABORTION
We believe and teach that abortion is “not” a birth control, and should never be used as such. We also believe and teach that “all” abortion is against God’s will. We also believe and teach that there are only two reasons that abortion (MIGHT) be considered as an option for a Christian. A: "TRUE RAPE"- this means that through no fault of her own, (no drugs, or alcohol, or any form of permissiveness or suggested permissiveness) the woman was, forced to submit to sexual intercourse. (This does not include a legal husband). If the victim is married, we pray that both wife and husband are Christians, as they will need God's wisdom and love to make the right decisions. B: "LIFE OR DEATH"- this means that the doctor has stated that there is “strong” reason to believe the mother will die if she carries the baby to full term and that there is no way to deliver the baby without causing death to the mother. Again, we pray that both Mother and Father of the child are Christian, as God's love and wisdom will be needed. We know and realize that our stand may or may not be considered Biblical by other Christians (and it really makes no difference what non-Christians may say about our stand). We also realize that abortion in many countries is legal. Nevertheless, to the best of our knowledge and understanding of the scriptures on this subject, we take the above stated stand. Genesis 9:5-6; Exodus 21:22; Leviticus 20:13; Psalms 127:3; 139:13-16; Jeremiah 1:5; 20:17; Isaiah Deuteronomy 5:7; 1Timothy 1:8-9; Numbers 35:16, 33; Ecclesiastes 11:5; Isaiah 1:15; 44:2; 59:2-3 John 8:44 3. BIBLE, THE We believe and teach that the "Holy Bible" as we have it (Old & New Testament) is The Holy Spirit inspired translation of the Holy Scriptures from their original tongues as the "Holy Spirit" moved them. We believe and teach that the "Holy Bible" is the “written” Word of God and as such is the Supreme and final authority in faith, life and truth. We believe and teach that as Christians, we are a "NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH" and in so being, we live according to the faith and freedom that Jesus taught and lived by. All laws and commandments are summed up in one word, "LOVE"; "GOD IS LOVE" and therefore all that we do, say, think and live, should be toward the goal of loving one another as God loves us. We believe and teach that the "Old Testament" is a testament for deeper study as it shows us the beginnings of many things including, mankind, sin, and the coming of The Messiah (among other things). We believe and teach that if the only thing a person ever heard or studied from was the New Testament, it (the New Testament) is enough for salvation. We believe and teach that the "Holy Bible" has God for its author and salvation for its end. And is the “Written” Word of the “Living Word” (Jesus Christ) Truth with out mixture of error for its matter; Exodus 24.4, Deuteronomy 4:1-2; 17:19; Joshua 8:34, Psalms19:l-10; 119:11, 89, 105, 140; Isaiah 34:l6; 40:8; Jeremiah l5.16, 36:1-32; Matthew 5.l7, 22:29; Luke21:33; 24:44-46: John 5:39; 16:13-15; 17:17; Acts 17:11; Romans l5:.4; 16:25-26; 2Timothy3:15-17; Hebrews l:l-2, 4:12; 1Peter l :25; 2Peter 1:19-21; 4. BAPTISM We believe and teach that Baptism by immersion is the ONLY acceptable form of baptism taught in the Bible, no other form will do! Persons who cannot mentally make a “freewill” choice (whether it by due to age or mental illness) need not, to be baptized. We believe that since the Bible teaches, baptism is joining in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the death of the old nature and the birth of the new nature, the cleansing of the conscience in order to begin that new life, baptism is “not” just a sign that you believe in Christ. We believe and teach that Baptism is a most important part of salvation. Unless unable to be baptized as was the thief on the cross, salvation is “not” complete with out it. However there are those who would say “but what if you live in a place where there is no water”? And I would answer them by saying this; “You, do what the Word of God says to do, with what you have. And let God worry about what you don’t have.” We believe that it really does not matter which words are used when baptizing, whether it be “in the name of Jesus the Christ” or “in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit”. Since some seem to have problems with which words are proper to use, After much prayer, we, with complete peace, use these words “by the authority of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, I baptize you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.” A: INFANT BAPTISM We believe and teach that infant baptism is Un-biblical. In order to follow Christ, He tells us that we must "believe and be baptized." An infant cannot believe, cannot make a choice and cannot repent. Therefore, infant baptism is not acceptable to this Ministry and we will not take part in or associate ourselves in any way with this practice... Matthew 3:6,16; 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-16; John 3:3-6; Acts 2:38-42; 8:12-13, 36-39, 9:18; 10:47-48; 16:33; 18:8; 19:5; 22:16; Romans 6:3-11; 1Corinthians 12:13; Galatians 3:27; Ephesians 4:5; 5:26; Colossians 2:12 Titus 3:5; 1Peter 3:20-21; 5. BIRTH CONTROL We believe and teach that sex is only for the Husband and Wife. We believe and teach that only the form of birth control that keeps the egg from becoming fertilized, such as, (but not limited to) sperm-asides, condoms, IUD, and early withdrawal, should be used. We believe and teach that any form of birth control that kills the egg or other wise interferes (after) fertilization or with the normal function of the woman's body such as medication should (not) be used. We believe there are times that a couple will decide they do not want to have children. Whether it is because of poverty; not wanting any more children; or because they just don’t want children. This is something the couple should pray about and if both feel, they will not want children in the future and are at peace with God; we do not believe it is unbiblical to take care of such a matter medically, by operation. One or both should feel free to undergo the procedure, both husband and wife must agree before a medical procedure is carried out. We know and accept that others may feel differently concerning this subject. We do not condemn or in any way treat with disrespect someone who has a different view concerning the subject of "Birth Control" (with exception to abortion) and we make no apologies for our belief. 6.
CHRISTIAN BEHAVIOR
We
believe and teach that
as Christians, we are called to be a godly people who think, feel,
dress, speak, act and even play in harmony with the principles of
Heaven.
As Christians, we strive to involve ourselves only in those things that will produce Christ like purity, and bring glory to the name of Jesus Christ. This means that even our amusement, entertainment, and free time should meet the highest standards of Christian taste and beauty; this includes the people that we share our time with. We believe and teach that while we do recognize cultural differences; our dress is to be simple, modest, and neat. Once we become Christian, we are citizens of Heaven and our "Culture" becomes what is acceptable to the Lord Jesus Christ, not the country in which we live. We believe clothing for women or men that reveal certain body parts because they are "see through", "short", "tight", "low cut", or "split", are “Not acceptable!” We find nothing in the Bible that makes it a sin for a woman to wear such apparel as pant or pantsuits, whether it is in a private or public place, including worship service, as long as they meet the expectation of Christian modesty. We believe and teach that all Christians are under obligation to seek to make the will of Christ supreme in our own lives and to teach others to do the same. In the spirit of Christ, Christians should oppose and have no part in...Racism, Greed, Selfishness, any form of sexual contact outside of marriage, All sexual immorality such as adultery, homosexuality, bestiality, and pornography of all forms including books, movies and jokes. We believe and teach that since alcoholic beverages, tobacco, use of illegal drugs/narcotics, and the irresponsible use of certain medical drugs are harmful to the body (the temple of God) and can cause the mind to become clouded or drunk, Christians should abstain from all of these unless under direct supervision of a medical doctor, for a medical reason. Exodus 20:3-17; Leviticus 6:2-6; Psalms 101:3-7; Zechariah 8:16-17; Matthew 5:43-45; Romans (chaps.) 12 thru l5; Luke 10:27; John 15:12; 1Corinthians 5.9-13; 6:9; 10:21-23, 13-15, 18-20; 2Corinthians 5:15; 6:14 thru 7:l; 1Timothy 2:1; 3:11; 1Peter 3:1-6; 4:7; Titus 2:1-8,12; Galatians 5:19; Ephesians 5:1-21; Philippians 4:8-9, Colossians 3:5-17; 1Thessalonians 5:7-8; James 1:26-27; 1John 2:5-6, 3:23-24, 4:13, 20-21, Revelation 21:8; 7. COMMUNION We believe and teach that communion (The Lords Supper) if possible should consist of unleavened bread and juice of the fruit of the vine. We know and understand that there are places and times that this can not be used or found. We believe it is from the heart that the communion must come, so what ever is used for this occasion is acceptable. The unleavened bread representing the sinless body of Christ: The Juice representing the blood that Christ shed for our sins. Each time that we partake of the bread and (juice), we proclaim the death of Christ until He comes again. In partaking, we must search our hearts and minds before taking the Holy Communion and as Paul teaches, we must find ourselves worthy in order to avoid sickness and death by partaking unworthily. Matthew.26:20-30; John.6:51-51, Acts 2:42; 1Corinthians l0:l6-17, 11:23-30; 2Peter l: 4; 8. CHURCH, THE We believe and teach that the Church (Christ's Church) is in fact the community of believers who have believed, repented, and been baptized in the name of Jesus (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). No matter nationality, color, race, male or female: The Church is the "body" of Christ, with Jesus being the head of the body. We as Christians are God's chosen people, becoming the "Spiritual Israel". The church is one body with many members, called from every nation, kindred, tongue, and people. In Christ, we are a new creation, distinctions of race, culture, learning, and nationality, and differences between high class and low class, rich and poor, male and female must not be a cause of disharmony or difference of opinions among us. We must follow the word of God and accept His word to live by. 1Corinthians 3:17; 3:11; 10:17; 12:13; .Romans 7:4, 8:9; 12:4-5; Matthew 28:19-20; Colossians 1:18, 24; Acts 2:46-47; 20:28; Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:19-22; 3:8-11; 4:11-13; 5:23-30; Revelation 19:8-9; Galatians 3:28; 9. DAY OF WORSHIP A: LORD'S DAY, THE We believe and teach that because Jesus arose on the first day of the week (we call Sunday) the majority of the Christians have chosen to meet and worship on that day. Matthew 12:28; Mark 2:27-28; 16:1-7, Luke 24:1-3; 33-36; John 20:1; 19-28; Acts 20:7; 1Corinthians 16:1-2 B: SABBATH, THE SEVENTH DAY We believe and teach that there are a large number of Christians who choose to meet together for worship on the seventh day of the week (we call Saturday) in order to remember that Jesus is the creator of all things. Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 20:8-11; Luke 4:16; Isaiah 56:2; 58:13; Ezekiel 20:12; Deuteronomy 5:12 C: TODAY We believe and teach that both groups do so in accordance with Romans 14 and 15, that in doing so they both do so with a clear conscience and to the glorification of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe and teach that in agreement with Romans 14 and 15; TODAY is the day to serve the Lord. It makes no difference which day we pick to meet and worship together. What is important is that we glorify the name of Jesus Christ. Matthew 12:1-12; John 4:21-24; Colossians 2:14-17; Hebrews 3:12-15; 10. DIVORCE We believe and teach that the Bible provides two reasons that a Christian may divorce and not commit a sin. A: If a Christian, is married to a non-Christian, and the non-Christian leaves but does not divorce, the Christian is free to divorce the non-Christian. 1Corinthians 1: 12-15; B: If the spouse (Christian or not) is unfaithful, the one who was faithful may divorce the one that was not. Matthew 5:32; 19:9; NOTE: Divorce is “not” necessary in either case. In addition, God does not desire divorce, but because we are humans, God has allowed for our cold hearts. 11. DEAD, STATE OF THE We believe and teach that when a person dies, the breath of life that is given by God does in fact return to God. As God is Spirit, and God is life, all aspects of God, (even those we cannot understand about Him) is alive. A: RIGHTEOUS PERSONS We believe and teach, that when one dies in Christ, the breath of life leaves the body and consciousness ends, not in pain but to “sleep/rest”, until the Lord Jesus calls us from the grave and our bodies are changed from the flesh and blood we are now, to the eternal spiritual body we will receive. B: UN-RIGHTEOUS PERSONS We believe and teach that, Just as the Bible says God knows how to keep the fallen angels in prison, He is also able to, and knows how to keep an un-righteous human being in a semi-knowledgeable prison until the day they are required to stand in His presence for the final sentence of “total” destruction. In this state the un-righteous person is in total darkness, aware of his/her own presence yet unaware of any name or past experiences, other than the fact that they have rejected Christ. He/She is aware that “it” is a life, but unaware that it was a human with a past human life. It (life) is aware that there is a God, a Creator, and that it has rejected knowing God. It (this life) is suffering in the un-ending pain of loneliness, (absence of God), the pain is agenizing, knowing that it has betrayed God and being ever so afraid and lost as to what to do, knowing there is no chance for redemption. Isaiah 26:14; 59:10; Psalms 88:6; 115:17; 143:3; 146:2-4; Job 14:10-12; Ecclesiastes 9:5-6,10; James 2:26; 12. DEMONS We believe and teach that, demons/evil spirits are the fallen angels (created beings), who once served God. They however chose to follow Satan against Heaven, and have indeed lost their home with God and in the end will suffer with Satan in the lake of fire that the Bible teaches is created for Satan and his angels. Leviticus17:7; Ezek. 28:18-19; 1Samuel 16:14-23; Matthew 8:28-34; 12:43-45; 25:41 James 2:19; 2Cor. 11:14, 15, 2Peter 2:4; Jude 1:6; Revelation 9:20; 12:7-9; 13. FOOT WASHING We believe and teach that "Foot Washing" is just as important to the Christian, as partaking of the Bread and Juice of the vine. Jesus stated, "A person who has bathed all over does not need to wash, except for the feet, to be entirely clean. And you are clean, but that isn’t true of everyone here." One who has been baptized has had a bath and has been washed clean, but in our daily walk in this world we face temptations and get dirty everyday, so once in awhile (as often as communion) we need to wash our conscience clean and remember that we are the servants and “not” the served. John 13:1-17 14. GOD We believe and teach that there is "One God". Every thing about God is alive. Therefore, His "Word" is living (Jesus). His "Thoughts and Will" also live (Holy Spirit). Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:28-29; John.1:1-4, 6:68, 16:28; Ephesians 4:6; 1Corinthians 8:4; 1Timothy 1:17, 2:5; Colossians 1:15; (see also "Jesus" & "Holy Spirit") 15. HOLY SPIRIT We believe and teach that even The Father’s thoughts and breath is alive. This living Holy Spirit lives inside all believers. This living "Holy Spirit" guides us, convicts us, cleanses our conscience, and gives us peace of mind. "One God" but all parts are alive. We must remember that we are speaking of "spirit life" not "human life" as we know it. Genesis 1:1-29; Mark 13:31; John 1:1-4, 13-14, 6.63-68; Philippians 2:16, 1Peter 1:23-25; John 5:19-20 16. HOLIDAYS We believe and teach that in accordance with Romans chapters 14 & 15 (among others) there are certain Holidays, or so called (Holy days) or customs which Christians should not take part. “Roy and Cathy Ross Freewill Mission”, does not celebrate “any” Holidays per say. But we do know and understand that many Christians do, and therefore we have given a partial list of what we believe and how these holidays should be celebrated (if) a Christian decides to celebrate one or more of these days. A: CHRISTMAS: This is the day that has been chosen by most Christians to celebrate the “Birth of Christ”. Some Christians do not celebrate this day at all. In keeping with the Bible both are acceptable to this ministry. We feel however if a Christian is going to celebrate Christmas day, It should be done with an attitude of a “Follower of Christ” … (Example)
Acceptable are things such as
(Examples)…
Anything along this line is acceptable, There is nothing wrong with celebrating this day with good, clean, Christian fun, be it games, T.V. movies Etc… BUT Worship time must be there. If the day is celebrated for any other reason than the Birth of Jesus Christ by a Christian then you are participating in idolatry. B: EASTER: This is the day that most Christians celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. As with the Other Holidays, some Christians do not celebrate this day and again either way is acceptable to this ministry, but again if it is celebrated (only) Jesus Christ should be glorified.
Acceptable are things such as
(Examples)…
Anything along this line is acceptable, BUT! Worship time must be there. If the day is celebrated for any other reason than the RESURECTION of Jesus Christ by a Christian then you are participating in idolatry. C:
LIST OF DAYS A CHRISTIAN SHOULD NOT TAKE PART IN AT ALL
NOTE: We are not referring to
days such as birthdays, anniversaries, going away parties,
Etc…as long as they are done as in Christian fun, there is
nothing wrong with (having fun). 17. HEALING,
DIVINE We believe and teach that God
uses doctors, medicines, and other natural means as channels of
healing. However, the blood of Jesus that was shed on the cross does
provide for divine healing. It is possible to receive divine healing by
laying on of hands, anointing with oil and prayers offered by the
elders of the church. Deuteronomy 32:39; Isaiah 38:5,
53:4-5; Psalms 91:3-4, 103:3, 107:17-21, Matthew 4:23, 8:3, 13, 16,
9:28-29, 14:35-36; Mark 1:31, 5:27-34,6:5-6,10:52,16:18-20; Luke
5:17,13:13,17:12-14; Acts 21:8; James 5:14-15; 18. HEAVEN We believe and teach that
Heaven is a biblical term applied to the chosen dwelling place of God
and the eternal destiny of all God's redeemed children. To be in Heaven
is to remain in Christ in the presence of God, where death, mourning,
crying, and pain will be no more. Heaven is characterized by
everlasting joy, blessed peace, and the righteousness of God. 1Kings
8:27-30; Matthew 6:9-10; Acts 7:55-56; John 14:2-3; Revelation 5:1-5,
19. HELL We
believe and teach that
"Hell" is the accepted word used by the Christian community when
discussing the punishment of the one who has not received Christ as
Savior. In reality it means the "grave".
However in the New Testament, Hell is referred to by the terms "lake of fire", "darkness", and Gahanna (a gorge outside Jerusalem where garbage was burned). Hell is, characterized by punishment, torment, and anguish, weeping, gnashing of teeth, and eternal destruction (see #11 Dead, state of). After this prison, The Bible teaches that unrepentant sinners will suffer the second death in the lake of fire that was created for Satan and His Angels. 2Thessalonians 1:8-9; Matthew
7:13, 10:28, 23:33, 25;41-46; Luke 12:4-5, 16:19; Revelations 20:13-15, 20.
IDOLS/STATUES We
believe and teach
that all statues, pictures or any object used in any form of worship,
prayer or Christian service, “is” idolatry!
Whether the objects are in the
home, the car, the church or the cemetery; the person participating or
allowing such action is an Idolater. Deuteronomy 4:15-19, 5:8-9;
Exodus 7:25-26, 17:2-5, 27:15; Isaiah 44:11-20, 46:4-10; Ezekiel
14:1-6; Habakkuk 2:18-2; Psalms 106:28-29, 115:l-8; Acts 17:27-31;
Romans 1:20-30, 1Corinthians 10:13-22; 2Corinthians 6:15-18; 1Peter
4:1-5; 21. JESUS We
believe and teach that
Jesus is one hundred percent God, and one hundred percent man. Jesus is
the "Living Word" that was with God and was God from the beginning. He
is the "Truth" as He himself proclaimed, and only God is truth.
He is the "Living Word" that came forth from the Father at the time of creation. He is the "Living Word" that became flesh and blood when God "spoke" the command for the egg to grow inside of Mary, and the Spirit of God came upon her. He suffered for our sins, and died on the cross. After three days in the grave, He arose; His human body then transformed into a spiritual body, as ours will do at His second coming. He then ascended into Heaven now holding the place of glory and honor. Matthew 1:20-23, Luke 1:30-35; John 1:1-3; 3:13; 6:63-68; 14; 1Corinthians 15:34; 25:17-19; Ephesians 4:5; Colossians 1:14-20; Hebrews 2:7-18, 8:1-13; (see also "God" & "Holy Spirit") 22. MAN We
believe and teach that
man was, created from the earth, in the image of God, and he became a
living soul when God breathed the breath of life into him.
Genesis 2:7 23. MARRIAGE
We believe and teach that as human beings, the “only” thing that goes with us from this life into the spiritual life (after death) is our sins, (If we have not been washed by the blood of Jesus). The Bible (Word of God) and Jesus himself makes it abundantly clear that rules and laws in this life as human beings are only for “this life. In order to have a complete understanding of this fact, one would have to spend hours, days, weeks, months and maybe even years of study in the word of God (The Bible) therefore, here we will make it very simple by using only what Jesus, and the Apostle Paul teaches about marriage. First of all Paul said this “Don’t you know that the law applies only to a person who is still living?”…”When a woman marries, the law binds her to her husband as long as he is alive. But if he dies the laws of marriage no longer apply.” Romans 7:1-3 Jesus said “Your problem is that you don’t know the Scriptures, and you don’t know the power of God, for when the dead rise, they won’t be married, they will be like the angels in heaven”. Matthew 22:29-30 24. MILLENNIUM We believe and teach that the millennium is the one-thousand years that will follow the tribulation. Isaiah 65:17; Hebrew 8:11; 1Cor. 15:23-52; 1Thess.4:17; Revelation 14:6; 19:17-19; 20:1-15; 25. NEW JERUSALEM We believe and teach that the New Jerusalem "the city of God" will descend from Heaven at the end of the Millennium and be here on this earth (the new earth, as it will have, been cleansed by fire from Heaven) a city of righteousness. God will provide an eternal home for the redeemed and a perfect environment for everlasting life, love and joy. As for the Lord, He will dwell with His people, and suffering and death will have passed away. Sin will be no more. All creation will declare that God is love, and He shall reign forever. Revelation 21; 1Cor. 15:26-28; 26. OFFERINGS & TITHES We believe and teach that a set amount of tithes or offerings was abolished with the Advent of the New Testament (covenant). As Christians, any offerings, be it money, time or other things, must be an amount offered from the heart, and not from the feeling of guilt, shame, force or fear. Luke 11:41, 2 Corinthians 8:13, 9:7, Galatians 5:1 27. PRAYER We believe and teach that prayer is ONLY to "The One Living God". Not to anyone or anything, either alive or dead, in this world, or another; In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, God the Father Himself hears our prayers. There are three reasons for this. A: We are taught repeatedly that ONLY God is worthy of our prayers, praise and worship. Even those under the Old Testament covenant were taught the same. B: Jesus Himself said that what ever we ask the Father in "His" name, God would give us. John 16:23-27; Ephesians 5:20; Colossians 3:17; 1 Timothy 2:5 C: Those righteous who have died and gone from this life are in fact asleep and waiting for the resurrection. They know nothing of this life or the next. Their existence, is as it was before their birth and that is as a breath of life waiting to be breathed into a body to become a being either human or spiritual. (See "State of the Dead" & "God") Proverbs 2:5; 28. RESURRECTION, THE We believe and teach the resurrection of the Christian will occur at the end of the tribulation which is the start of the Millennium (the 1,000 years) and that the resurrection of the wicked will occur at the end of the Millennium Job 14:12; Isaiah 26:19-21; Matthew 22:29-32, 24:31, 27:52; Mark 12:18-27; Luke 20:27-37; Revelation. 29. REMARRIAGE We believe and teach that the Bible provides two reasons that a Christian my remarry and not commit a sin after a divorce. A: If the non-Christian spouse leaves/divorces, the Christian is free to remarry. 1Corinthians7:12-15 B: If the spouse of a Christian is unfaithful, the Christian is free to remarry. Matthew 5:32, 19:9; 30. SALVATION We believe and teach that salvation comes only by grace through the blood of Jesus Christ. There is NO other way! Forgiveness-through His death and blood; Life-through His death and resurrection; in infinite love and mercy God made Christ (who knew no sin) to be sin for us. We believe and teach that God created us with a "Freewill nature" and we are therefore able to choose rather or not we will serve Jesus Christ. Just like the fallen angels were able to choose to serve Satan instead of God the Creator. The Bible clearly teaches that NO ONE can take us from the hand of God once we have chosen to be placed there by accepting the gift of salvation that is offered through the blood of Jesus; However! Once we choose to accept that gift, once we choose to surrender to Jesus, we are still able to choose to lay that gift aside and willingly walk away from God and eternal life. God teaches us repeatedly thru out the Bible, that eternal life is free for the taking but in order to receive that life one must win the race. One cannot accept the blood of Jesus and then continue to live ones life in sin. We must strive to reach our reward, "Eternal Life". Matthew 1:21, 5:13, 11:28, 18:14, 24:14; Luke 2:32, 3:6, 13:29-30, 19:10, 24:47; John 4:14, 5:40, 6:35-37, 12:32; Acts 4:12, 16:17, 30-31; Romans 3:21-30; Hebrews 3:12-15; 31. SPIRITUAL GIFTS We believe and teach that there are gifts of the Holy Spirit and every Christian has access. The Bible teaches that we may ask for any one or all of the gifts the Spirit offers. We may or may not receive it. When a gift is given (including tongues and prophecy) it is always under the control of the one who has the gift. There is never an out of control moment unless one gives in to temptation from their own mind and thoughts! We are taught by Paul and through out the Bible that control is a must. Never is there an episode of being "slain" in the spirit including falling or rolling on the ground. Being unable to control these gifts is "Unbiblical". The following is a list of some of these gifts of the spirit.
1Cor. 12, 14, Romans 12:6-8;
Eph. 4:7-16; 32.
SATAN
We believe and teach that Satan was created by God and is “only” an Angel. According to writings from the Bible, we get the impression that Satan was an (Archangel), who was in charge of other angels. As Angels are created with freewill, (just as humans are) Satan chose to turn against God the Father and all that was good. Being that he was in charge of other angels, he was able to lead many of the angels astray with him (the Bible tells us 1/3 of all the angels). We believe and teach that he can do “nothing” that God does not allow him to do. He cannot force a Christian (or any one else) to do any thing. He can only put temptation before them. Job, Matthew 4:1-1, Luke 10:18, 22:31, John 8:38-44, 13:2; Acts 5:3; Heb. 2:7; Eph. 6: 12 33. SECOND COMING OF CHRIST We believe and teach that Jesus Christ will return from Heaven and His return will be literal, personal, and visible to the whole world. The Bible teaches that when Jesus returns, the dead belonging to Christ will be resurrected and all Christians, will be changed, in the twinkle of an eye, from mortal human to immortal spirit beings, thus receiving the eternal life that is ours, through the blood of the Lord Jesus. Revelation 34. SEXUAL SINS Adultery- Exodus 20:14; Leviticus 20:10; Deuteronomy 5:18; Matthew 5:27-28, 19:18; Luke 18:20; Romans 13:9; 1Corinthians 6:9; James 2:11 Bestiality- Leviticus 18:23, 20:15-16; Fornication- Leviticus 18, and 20 Homosexuality- Leviticus 18:22-23, 20:13; Romans 1:27: 35. TEMPTATION We believe and teach that ALL temptation is from the devil. God does not tempt anyone. He does however allow Christians to be tempted by Satan. How ever no matter the temptation, God never allows the temptation to go beyond what each of us can withstand (if we choose to do so). For this reason Christians should do their best to not put themselves in situations or places where temptations could arise. Matthew 4:1-11, 6:13, 16:1, 26:41; Mark 1:13; Luke 4:13, 8:13, 22:31-32; John 13:2; 1Corinthians 10:13; James 1:2-3, 12-16; 1Thessaloniam 3:5; 1Timothy 6:9-10; 1Peter 1:6-7; Hebrews 2:18, 4:14-15; 36. TRIBULATION We believe and teach that the church (all who have truly received Jesus and been baptized) that are still alive, will go through what the Bible calls "The Great Tribulation Period". This is a time when Christians will remain true to Christ or turn their backs on Him. There may be a few who will still turn to Jesus during that time, but for the most part it is a time when the Christian will stand and suffer/die for Christ, or will turn from Him to save their own life and in doing so lose eternal life. Revelation 37. WOMAN We believe and teach that woman was, created from a rib that was, removed from the man. She was, created for the benefit of man, not man for the woman. She became a living soul when God breathed the breath of life into her. Genesis 2:21-24, 3:16; Ephesians5:22-24, 33; 1Corinthians. 11:3, 7-10; |
